William Shedd: "A ship in a harbor is safe, but that is not what a ship is built for." We must get out of the harbor, but it is sure helpful to have a harbor to come back to -- for renewal, for supplies, for healing, for mending, for direction, for centering. Time Alone with the Lord every day is a necessary harbor. Time with one's spouse. Time with one's church. But out we must go - out to where the Lord leads in his purpose for our lives.
Muriel Strode: "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead where there in no path and leave a trail." Not everyone is a trail blazer. Not everyone can bushwhack through the country side. But for those who can and will, the Lord will lead. Trail-blazing is a walk of faith. Reminds me of Proverbs 3:5,6.
